Yuan Zong-do

…A group of anti-archaicist writers, represented by the three Yuan brothers (Yuan Zongdao (1560-1600), Yuan Hongdao, and Yuan Zhongdao (1570-1623)), who emerged from Gong'an, Hubei Province, China in the late Ming Dynasty. Although they themselves never called themselves by this name, and the three had different tendencies and qualities, they all learned from their teacher Li Zhi (Zhuo Wu) that it is important to grasp the truth of things independently.
