〘Noun〙 This refers to the auxiliary villages that were requisitioned in addition to the post station Josukego from the mid-Edo period onwards. Villages about three or four ri away, slightly further away than Josukego, were designated, and only when the post station or Josukego's men and horses were insufficient, the post station applied to the road magistrate and received a letter of authorization to allocate men and horses, but later, special arrangements were made with the post station and Josukego to provide a certain number of men and horses on a permanent basis.
