Enshoji Temple

A Tendai sect temple located near Okazaki in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. Built in 1128 at the request of Taikenmon-in Fujiwara Shoshi. One of the Rokushoji temples. Burned down in 1219 but rebuilt. 京都市左京区岡崎付近にあった天台宗の寺。大治三年（一一二八）待賢門院藤原璋子の発願により建立。六勝寺の一つ。承久元年（一二一九）炎上したが再建。応仁の乱により廃絶。
