〘Noun〙 A general term for plants in the genus Corydalis of the Papaveraceae family that have purple or white flowers and underground tubers. There are varieties such as Corydalis japonicus, Corydalis japonica, and Corydalis serrata. The dried underground stems are used as a painkiller.
