Basic lead carbonate

Lead(II) hydroxide carbonate has the chemical formula Pb 3 (Co 3 ) 2 (OH) 2 or 2PbCO 3 · Pb(OH) 2 . When sodium carbonate is added to an aqueous solution containing lead ions and heated, a white precipitate is obtained. Its specific gravity is 6.14, and it is insoluble in water but soluble in nitric acid. In industry, it is called white lead and has been used as a white pigment since ancient times, but is harmful. 炭酸水酸化鉛 (II) のことで，化学式 Pb3(Co3)2(OH)2 または 2PbCO3・Pb(OH)2 。鉛イオンを含む水溶液に炭酸ナトリウムを加えて熱すると白色の沈殿として得られる。比重 6.14，水に不溶だが硝酸に可溶。工業上は鉛白といい，古来白色顔料として用いられているが有害である。
