Basic refractories - Enkisei taikaibutsu

A general term for basic refractories whose main components are magnesia or lime. There is a classification method for refractories that separates them into three chemical types: acidic, neutral, and basic, and magnesia bricks, dolomite bricks, and forsterite bricks belong to this category. However, there are no rules regarding the content of components; rather, it is determined by the relative relationship between each refractory material and the basicity of the slag it comes into contact with.

マグネシアあるいは石灰を主成分とした塩基性耐火物の総称．耐火物を化学的に酸性，中性，塩基性の3種類に分ける分類法があり，マグネシアれんが，ドロマイトれんが，フォルステライトれんがなどがこれに属する．しかし，成分的な含有量に関するとり決めはなく，むしろ各耐火物間の組成や接触するスラグの塩基度との相対的関係で決めるものである．
