Helmet - Helmet

Japanese:
Helmet - Helmet
Iron armor worn on the head. There are two types of armor excavated from ancient tombs: short armor and keikou, and there are also two types of helmets: shoukakutsuki kabuto (helmet with a horn) and mabisashitsuki kabuto (helmet with a brow visor). Based on their shape, shoukakutsuki kabuto is thought to belong to short armor, while mabisashitsuki kabuto is thought to belong to keikou. However, as can be seen in the haniwa clay figurines of warriors wearing keikou armor excavated in the Kanto region, almost all of them are equipped with shoukakutsuki, and the relationship between the two types of armor and helmets in ancient times is not necessarily fixed. Rather, it should be considered that shoukakutsuki kabuto and keikou helmets were often used together.
