...In the Kamakura period, this area is known to be home to Kamakura vassals such as Oshidare, Shidayai, Takasaka, and Nomoto, as well as Shodai Buddhist sculptors, Iwadonoyama, Koufukuji Temple, and Nomotoji Temple, but the name Matsuyama has not been confirmed. During the Nanboku-cho period, these clans were wiped out and this area became the territory of the Ashikaga clan, which was divided into various temple lands, and part of it may have become the territory of the Ueda clan, a senior vassal of the Kanto Kanrei Uesugi clan.
