Echizen Pottery Village

...Blessed with clay, the area is known as a producer of Echizen ware, and there are remains of ancient Echizen kilns stretching to the neighboring town of Oda to the north. In Shinmeiga-dani in Ozohara, there is a remains of a Sueki kiln, and the Echizen Pottery Village is located in the area, along with the Prefectural Ceramic Industry Testing Station and the Pottery Museum. In addition to rice and vegetables, the area is also famous for its bamboo shoots.
