Also called fleshy fruits or wet fruits, this is the opposite of dry fruits. These are fruits whose fleshy skin retains a lot of water even after ripening. Examples include tomatoes, peaches, persimmons, and mandarin oranges. In a broader sense, it also includes pears, apples, and melons. Depending on the number of carpels and the differentiation of the skin, fruits can be further divided into berries, drupes (stone fruits), citrus fruits, pome fruits, and melon fruits. 多肉果,湿果ともいい,乾果に対する語。多肉化した果皮が成熟後も水分を多くもっている果実である。トマト,モモ,カキ,ミカンなどがこれに相当する。広義には,ナシ,リンゴ,ウリなども含める。心皮の数や果皮の分化の違いなどによって,さらに,漿果,核果 (石果) ,ミカン状果 (柑果) ,ナシ状果,ウリ状果などに分けられる。
