Meanwhile, in terms of radar technology, in the 1950s, technologies that detect and use the amplitude and phase information of reflected waves, called coherent radars, such as SAR (short for synthetic aperture radar) and MTI (short for moving target indicator), which will be described later, were put to practical use. In the 1960s, digital signal processing technology was developed, and OTH (short for over the horizon) radar, which uses the reflection of shortwave radio waves by the ionosphere, was put to practical use.
