Henan County Site - Henan County Site (English)

Japanese: 河南県城址 - かなんけんじょうし（英語表記）Hé nán xiàn chéng zhǐ

The remains of the Han Dynasty Henan County Castle, located about 5 km west of the old Luoyang City, China. A survey conducted in 1954 revealed a roughly square city wall measuring 1,485 m east to west and 1,410 m north to south, centered on Xiaotun Village on the east bank of the Jian River. It was confirmed that the wall was the site of Henan County Castle based on the presence of a Warring States tomb below the wall, a tomb from the late Eastern Han Dynasty on top of the wall, and the presence of pottery stamped "Heshi" and "Henan" on the excavated pottery. A survey conducted in 1955 revealed the outer wall of the Zhou King's Castle, and confirmed that, as stated in the literature, Henan County Castle was built on the site of the Zhou King's Castle, but its size had been reduced to about one-quarter.

中国，洛陽旧城から西約5kmにある漢代河南県城の跡。1954年の調査によって，澗河東岸の小屯村を中心に広がる東西1485m，南北1410mのほぼ方形の城壁が明らかにされた。城壁の下に戦国墓，城壁上に後漢末の墓があること，出土の土器に〈河市〉〈河南〉の印を押したもののあることから，この城壁が河南県城址であることが確認された。55年の調査では周王城の外郭が判明し，文献に述べるごとく，河南県城が周王城址に築かれたことが確認されたが，その規模は4分の1ほどに狭められている。
