Japanese: ミズオトギリ - みずおとぎり

A perennial plant of the Hypericaceae family (illustration) that grows in wetlands and grows to a height of 30-70cm. The stem is upright, reddish purple at the bottom, and extends a long, slender underground stem. The leaves are oblong, opposite, stalkless, 3-7cm long, and transparent dots are visible when viewed through the plant. From August to September, one to three pale pink flowers with short stalks appear in the leaf axils. The flowers are about 1cm in diameter, with five sepals and five petals. The stamens are made up of three groups of nine stamens, three of which are joined by filaments, and there is one glandular body between each group of stamens.

湿地に生え，高さ30～70cmになるオトギリソウ科の多年草（イラスト）。茎は直立して下部が赤紫色を帯び，地下に細長い地下茎をのばす。葉は長楕円形で対生し，葉柄がなく，長さ3～7cm，透かすと透明な細点が見える。8～9月ころ，葉腋（ようえき）に短い柄のある淡紅色の花を1～3個ずつつける。花は直径1cm内外，5枚の萼片と，5枚の花弁がある。おしべは9本のおしべが3個ずつ花糸で合生した3個の雄蕊（ゆうずい）群からなり，各雄蕊群の間に各1個の腺体がある。
