The Uralic language family is a collective term for the ethnic groups that speak the Uralic languages. It has been linguistically proven that the Uralic languages can be traced back to a common ancestor, and attempts to reconstruct the history of the Uralic language groups based on this common ancestor are being made in the fields of linguistics, folklore, ethnology, archaeology, physical anthropology, history, and other fields (collectively known as Uralology). *Some of the terminology that refers to "Uralics" is listed below.
