…During that time, he traveled to Shima and Kumano in 1912, which gave birth to the poem, “My heart has grown weak as I travel. At the end of Shima, at Anori Cape, the light of the lamp is visible” (Umiyama no aida). He also traveled across the Chubu region in 1920, and to the Nansei Islands and Iki in 1921 and 1923, which established a style of tranquil tanka based on the theme of “secrecy.” This resulted in the collection of poems Umiyama no aida (Umiyama no aida) (1925), which includes the poem, “Kuzu no hana, trampled down, its color has changed. There was a person who walked this mountain path.” …
