Tadao Ikeda

1602－1632 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in 1604. The third son of Ikeda Terumasa, lord of Himeji Domain in Harima (Hyogo Prefecture). His mother was Tokuhime (Ryoshoin), daughter of Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1619, he was allowed to use the Matsudaira surname. In 1620, he was given 63,000 koku of land and became lord of Sumoto Domain in Awaji (Hyogo Prefecture). In 1627, he succeeded his elder brother Tadatsugu and became the second head of the Ikeda (Matsudaira) family to rule Okayama Domain in Bizen. Of the 380,000 koku, 100,000 koku in the three counties of Shiso, Ako, and Sayo in Harima was given to his younger brothers Teruzumi, Masatsuna, and Teruoki. He came into conflict with the samurai samurai over the Kawai Matagoro incident. He died on April 3, 1630. 31 years old.

Ikeda Tadao

1905-1964 A screenwriter from the Showa era.
Born on February 5, 1905. Made his debut in 1929 in "Yen Taxi Botchan" at Shochiku Kamata. His work includes "There Was a Father" directed by Ozu Yasujiro, "Lights of Asakusa" directed by Shimazu Yasujiro, and "Warm Current" directed by Yoshimura Kozaburo. Died on May 12, 1964. Age 59. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Waseda University.

慶長7年生まれ。播磨(はりま)(兵庫県)姫路藩主池田輝政(てるまさ)の3男。母は徳川家康の娘督姫(とくひめ)(良正院)。慶長12年松平姓をゆるされる。15年淡路(あわじ)(兵庫県)6万3000石をあたえられて洲本(すもと)藩主。20年兄忠継(ただつぐ)の跡をつぎ,備前岡山藩主池田(松平)家2代となる。38万石のうち播磨(はりま)の宍粟(しそう)・赤穂(あこう)・佐用(さよ)の3郡10万石を弟輝澄(てるずみ)・政綱・輝興(てるおき)に分与。河合又五郎事件をめぐり旗本と対立した。寛永9年4月3日死去。31歳。
