Sea strider genus

...They are widely distributed in the Palearctic region from Europe to Japan. There are six species of the Japanese marine sea strider genus Halobates , which belongs to the same family, and all of them have short, egg-shaped bodies measuring 3 to 6 mm, covered in wax and grayish white in color. H. sericeus , H. germanus , and H. micans also venture into the ocean surface tens to hundreds of kilometers away from the coast.
