Mew
An integrated interface (application) for reading and writing email and NetNews messages on GNU Emacs/Mule. Its development is being led by Yamamoto of Nara Institute of Science and Technology. It is popular among Mule users because it provides a smart interface for MIME and PGP. The interface part of Mew is written in Emacs Lisp, and in the current version, it is used in combination with "im", a collection of message handling commands written in Perl.

GNU Emacs/Mule上で、電子メールやNetNewsのメッセージを読み書きするための統合インターフェイス(アプリケーション)。奈良先端大の山本氏を中心に開発が進められている。MIMEやPGPに対するスマートなインターフェイスが提供されていることから、Mule利用者の間で人気が高い。Mewのインターフェイス部分はEmacs Lispで書かれており、現在のバージョンでは、Perlで書かれたメッセージハンドリングコマンド集「im」と組み合わせて利用するようになっている。
