Space Object Registration Treaty

Japanese: 宇宙物体登録条約 - うちゅうぶったいとうろくじょうやく

Its official name is the Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space. It was created by the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and came into force in 1976. Any country that launches a space object into Earth orbit or beyond must register it in its national registry. The details of the registry are determined by the country that is registering it, but when the registry is established, the markings and registration numbers of the registered objects must be notified to the UN Secretary-General, who will record them in the registry and make them public.

正式には「宇宙空間に打ち上げられた物体の登録に関する条約」 Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Spaceという。国連宇宙空間平和利用委員会で作成され，1976年に発効した。宇宙物体を地球軌道あるいはそれ以遠に打上げた国は，その国の国内登録簿に登録する。登録簿の詳細は登録する国が定めるが，登録簿を設置したときは，登録物体の標識，登録番号などを国連事務総長に通報し，事務総長はこれを登録簿に記録し，公開することになっている。
