Werner complex

Werner complex

A complex that can be explained by the coordination theory of Swiss chemist A. Werner. In other words, it is a complex formed by the coordination of a molecule or ion (monatomic or polyatomic ion) with an unshared electron pair to a central metal ion. The complex formed in this case can be either an ion or a molecule. Examples are [Co(NH 3 ) 6 ] 3+ , [Fe(CN) 6 ] 4- , [Co(NO 2 ) 3 (NH 3 ) 3 ], [Cr(NH 2 CH 2 COO) 3 ], [Cr(H 2 O) 6 ] 3+ , [Cr(edta)] - , etc. However, unlike these, sandwich complexes, olefin complexes, and allyl complexes involve π (pi) electron systems in the coordination bond, and furthermore form π bonds by back donation, and are therefore called non-Werner complexes because they cannot be explained by Werner's coordination theory.

Japanese:

たとえば、[Co(NH3)6]3+、[Fe(CN)6]4-、[Co(NO2)3(NH3)3]、[Cr(NH2CH2COO)3]、[Cr(H2O)6]3+、[Cr(edta)]-などがそうである。
