Interconnection conditions, mutual boundary conditions. The connection conditions of two or more components that exchange information with each other, or the part of that connection. It can refer to a connecting device (or connecting circuit) for connecting two or more devices, a part of a memory device or register used by two or more programs, or software for connecting two programs or systems. Since computers are made up of many devices connected to each other, compatibility between models is necessary, and in particular the interface between input/output devices and the input/output channels of the computer itself is standardized. The conditions for ease of use between a computer and the person using it can also be called an interface, and this is also called a man-machine interface.

相互接続条件，相互境界条件。相互に情報の授受を行なう二つ以上の構成要素の接続条件，またはその接続の部分。二つ以上の装置を連結するための連結装置 (または連結回路) をいう場合，二つ以上のプログラムによって使用される記憶装置の一部やレジスタ，また二つのプログラムやシステムをつなぐためのソフトウェアをいう場合などがある。コンピュータは，多くの装置が相互に接続されて構成されているため，機種間に互換性をもたせる必要があり，特に入出力装置とコンピュータ本体の入出力チャンネルとの間のインターフェースの標準化が行なわれている。またコンピュータとそれを使う人間との間の使いやすさの条件をインターフェースという場合もあり，これを特にマン・マシン・インターフェースとも呼ぶ。
