[Higher visual cortex]
While the primary visual cortex handles all visual information sent from the visual nerve, the higher visual cortex is divided into several areas and specializes in analyzing certain visual information. For example, in the higher visual cortex (called the color center), which is responsible for color recognition, all cells have response selectivity for color, but almost no response selectivity for other characteristics. The visual cells here have the ability to correctly judge colors under any light (this is called color constancy).
