In telescopes and microscopes, the lens used to magnify and observe the aerial image formed by the objective lens is called the eyepiece, which is a combination of a magnifying glass and a convex lens (field lens) that is placed near the aerial image and directs light rays to the magnifying glass to obtain a wide field of view.
