On the other hand, books on food preparation for famine relief, such as "The Tale of an Il-itsu in the Capital" were also produced, and in contrast, Yaoyozen's "The Cooking Master," which focused on the extravagant menus of Edo's finest restaurants, was published with prefaces and frontispieces by famous writers and artists.
