Japanese: 勝扇子 - かちおうぎ

One manuscript volume. In 1708 (5th year of the Hoei period), when Kyoto impresario Kobayashi Shinsuke went down to Edo and performed a puppet theater performance by Satsuma Kogenta's troupe in Boso, he was attacked by many outcasts and the theater was closed down. Kogenta and his comrades immediately filed a lawsuit, and after much investigation into whether those involved in theater belonged to the outcasts, the court ruled in June of the same year that "Kabuki actors are in the same category as Kagura, and puppet theater is not outcast either...the recent formation of a clique in Boso has become a scandal." Shinsuke and other theater people were delighted, seeing this as official status assurance.

写本1巻。1708年(宝永5)，江戸に下った京都の興行師小林新助が，薩摩小源太一座の人形浄瑠璃を房州で興行したところ多数の賤民に襲われ，芝居を取りつぶされた。小源太らはただちに訴訟を起こし，芝居に携わる者は賤民に属するか否かをめぐって吟味が重ねられた末，同年6月〈歌舞伎役者は則神楽として之在り候，又人形浄瑠璃も賤敷者にて之無く……此度房州に於てえた徒党致候段，近頃不届〉との判決が下された。新助をはじめ芝居の人びとは，これを公的な身分保証と受け取って喜んだ。
