The first is the case where it is not possible to predict with certainty in advance whether the event in question will occur, but the probability of the event occurring is objectively determined and the value of that probability is known in advance. In other words, the uncertainty, i.e., the possibility of the event occurring, can be quantitatively expressed with a known probability or probability distribution, and therefore can be called probabilistic uncertainty. The second is the case where it is impossible to express the nature or degree of uncertainty in the problem using known probabilities.
