Imazu Bay - Imazuwan

…To the west is the Itoshima Peninsula, and to the north, Genkai Island lies in the center of the bay mouth. To the west of the bay is Nokonoshima Island, and the inner part of the bay to the southwest is called Imazu Bay. The depth of the water is shallow, less than 10m except at the mouth of the bay (about 20m), due to the deposition of sediment from the inflowing rivers such as the Naka River, Muromi River, and Tatara River, as well as new land uplift, and the water is now shallow. A central sea route is being excavated to allow large ships to travel to Hakata Port.
