…It is a legal code that is said to have been compiled by King Inne of Wessex (reigned 688-726), who was a king of England during the Anglo-Saxon period. It is one of the many tribal legal codes found in Europe around this time, and is famous as the first legal code of the Kingdom of Wessex, which later unified England.
