A vehicle used in the snowy inland regions of northern peoples such as the Eskimos, Itelmens, and Koryaks. It is used regionally in the coastal regions of Northeast Asia, parts of western Siberia, and Alaska. There are many different shapes of sleds, but the Khozhen (Nanai) people who live along the Amur River have a boat-shaped sled made of wooden frames, 2.5 meters long, 40 cm high, and 50 cm wide, with a seat and carrier made of willow on top. It is usually pulled by five dogs, one of which is the leader and leads the way.
