Inaba Tokisada

Japanese: 稲庭時定 - いなばときさだ

...A manor in Oniyuu County, Wakasa Province. Its main area is Nishizu, Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, and includes Tagarasu. It was the territory of Yamashiro Jingoji Temple. It is believed that the manor was established in the late Heian period when Abe Sukenaga, the development lord, made a donation to the temple (Monkaku Shonin) and regarded it as the lord, while he himself became a steward. Tagarasu-ura (present Tagarasu) was said to have been designated "Nishizu-no-kata (one) manor" by Monkaku. In 1196 (Kenkyu 7), Inaniwa Gon-no-kami Tokisada, who was stripped of his position as shugo due to the wrath of Shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo, "was given the place of desperation for Nishizu-sho" and died here six years later, as recorded in the "Wakasa Kokuzeisho Ima Tomina Ryoshu Daidai-shidai."...

…At that time, there were 33 kunigokenin (provincial vassals) in Wakasa (7 each in Mikata and Oi counties, 19 in Oni County), each of whom held the position of kokugaryo (provincial government office), manor shi (official office), kumonshiki (official office), or miyoshuyushiki (headman's office), and about half of them had some kind of connection with the kokuga. The most powerful of them all was Inaniwa Tokisada, who controlled the kokuga tax office and owned at least 25 territories. It is assumed that there was a hierarchy among the kunigokenin, with Inaniwa at the top. …

…若狭国遠敷（おにゆう）郡の荘園。現在の福井県小浜市西津を主とし田烏を含む。山城神護寺領。平安末期，開発領主安倍資長が同寺(文覚上人)に寄進してこれを領家と仰ぎ，自身は預所となることにより立荘したと考えられる。多烏浦（たがらすのうら）(現，田烏)は文覚により〈西津ノかた(片)庄〉とされたという。1196年(建久7)将軍源頼朝の勘気をうけて守護職を奪われた稲庭権守時貞が〈西津庄ばかりかつみやう(渇命)ところに給〉わり，6年後ここで没したことが《若狭国税所今富名領主代々次第》に見える。…

…当時の若狭には33名の国御家人（くにごけにん）がおり(三方，大飯両郡各7名，遠敷郡19名)，彼らはそれぞれ国衙領（こくがりよう），荘園の下司（げし），公文職（くもんしき）あるいは名主職（みようしゆしき）などを有したが，また約半数は何らかの形で国衙とのかかわりがあった。うち最大の権勢を誇ったのは，国衙の税所（さいしよ）職を掌握する〈有勢之在庁〉であり，少なくとも25ヵ所の所領を有した稲庭（いなば）時定であった。国御家人の間にはおそらく彼を頂点とする統属関係が存在したと推測される。…
