Japanese: 《逸著聞集》 - いっちょもんしゅう

...Famous works of this genre include "Kinmo Instructors," "Amorous Mirror," "A Man of the Glory of the Ukiyo," "Amorous Transmission," "Amorous Traveling Pillow," "Amorous Small Fence," "Elegant Musical Shamisen," "Amorous Bed Discussions," "Various Playful Mustard Children," and "A Man of Intentional Play," and they were published from the Genroku and Hoei periods through the Kyoho and Kan'en periods. "Itchomonshu," "Hakoya no Himegoto," and "Anawokashi" are commonly referred to as the three great books on the art of sex, but there are also other works such as "Daito Keigo" and "Shunrantakuko," which are both excellent in both writing and illustration. Moreover, the four volumes of "Haifu Suetsumuhana" are rare collections of haiku poems in the world.

There are many humorous stories about aphrodisiacs like this one. In the Itchiyomonju, a man who was troubled by his heightened sexual desire was instructed to eat eel, chicken eggs, yam, burdock, and other foods that were said to be aphrodisiac-boosting, but instead his penis became violently erect and burned like fire, and when he soaked it in water it turned into hot water. Other stories include one in which Tokiwa Gozen, who had medicine applied to her genitals, became so lustful that she gave herself to Taira no Kiyomori and managed to save the lives of her children (Kurosawa Okina, Hakoya no Himegoto), and one in which the nun Shogun Masako, who had kidney deficiency, mixed in lecherous sheep locust (whose Japanese name is 'Ikarisou' because it is said to have aphrodisiac properties that make the penis erect to the point of rage) with two sho of male and female sexual fluids, leading to sexual intercourse between 100 young samurai and 100 palace maids (Hiraga Gennai, Nagamakura-ya Gassen).
