…He was called the Father of the Republic of China as the founder of the Republic of China. His pen name was Yit-sen and his pen name was Zhongshan (often called Sun Yat-sen in the West). He was born into a poor farming family in the village of Cuichen, Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province (now Zhongshan County). At the age of 12, he went to Hawaii to live with his eldest brother, who had been successful in earning money, and received a modern Western education at Sunday school. …
