Ichinotani - Ichinotani

Japanese: 一ノ谷 - いちノたに

This is one of the gorges that developed on the slope of Mt. Tekkai (237m) at the southwestern end of the Rokko Mountains, overlooking Sumaura Bay in Osaka Bay, in Suma Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. From the east, the valleys of Ichinotani, Ninotani, Sannotani, and Atsumorizuka River are lined up. The remains of the Imperial Palace are located upstream of the Ichinotani River, "Tatakai Beach" is located near the river mouth, and Atsumorizuka is located on the banks of the Atsumorizuka River. It is famous as the site of the ancient battle between the Genpei and Taira clans (→ Battle of Ichinotani ).

兵庫県神戸市須磨区，六甲山地南西端の鉄拐山 (237m) が大阪湾の須磨浦にのぞむ斜面に発達した峡谷の1つ。東から一ノ谷，二ノ谷，三ノ谷，敦盛塚川の谷が並んでいる。一ノ谷川の上流に内裏跡，河口付近に「たたかいの浜」，敦盛塚川のほとりに敦盛塚などがあり，源平古戦場 (→一ノ谷の戦い ) として名高い。
