… (1) Han Stone Classics It is said that in the late Later Han Dynasty, Cai Yong created a definitive copy and carved characters into stone to settle a dispute over the text of the classics. Construction began in the 4th year of the Xiping era (175) and was completed in the 9th year, so it is called the Xiping Stone Classic, and since it was written in clerical script only, it is also called the One-character Stone Classic. It contains seven classics: the Book of Changes, the Book of Shangshu, the Book of Songs (Lu Shi), the Great Daili, the Spring and Autumn Annals, the Gongyang Zhuan, and the Analects.
