Oligopoly regulation

In an oligopoly market, not only does it cause losses in resource allocation, but it has also been theoretically pointed out that companies tend to avoid competition with each other and easily adopt the same behavior even without the need for cartels, and this creates problems that cannot be ignored in the policy of free competition. The only way to fundamentally solve this problem is to change the market structure to a competitive one by using measures such as splitting up oligopoly companies. However, such measures would in a sense change the core of the private ownership system, which is an essential prerequisite for a competitive free enterprise economic system, and are not easily achieved.

寡占市場においては，資源配分上のロスが生ずるのみならず，企業がとくにカルテルによらなくとも互いに競争を回避して，容易に同一行動を取るようになることが理論的に指摘されており，自由競争の政策上は無視しえない弊害が存する。その根本的解決をはかろうとするならば，寡占企業を分割する等の手段を用いて，市場構造を競争的なものに変革する以外にはない。しかし，このような手段は，ある意味で競争的自由企業経済体制の不可欠の前提である私的所有制度の中枢を変革するものであり，容易には実現しえない。
