...It is a disease similar to scarlet fever, and is also called atypical scarlet fever. The epidemic that occurred in 1927 was reported as an independent disease by Izumi Sensuke (1888-1979) in 1929, and it came to be called Izumi fever after his surname. Since then, epidemics were seen in various parts of Japan until the 1950s, but in recent years it has become rare, and there seems to be no corresponding disease in foreign countries. ...
