The seven feudal states that played an active role during the Warring States period in China were Qin, Wei, Han, Zhao, Chu, Yan, and Qi. They were known as the Seven Warring States during the Han dynasty. In the early Warring States period, Wei was strong, followed by Qi under King Wei and King Xuan, who were famous for their Ji-xia learning. In the later period, Qin became powerful under King Xiao, who used Shang Yang, and eventually annexed the other six states.
