…The Asaino family was a prominent family in Sakai, and Sozui was a physician by trade and specialized in women's medicine (obstetrics and gynecology). In 1528 (the first year of the Kyoroku era), he revised and published the Ming Dynasty's Kuma Sotatsu's "Complete Medical Books," which is famous as the first medical book published in Japan. The Asaino family also published "Poem of the Three Body Styles" and "The Analects of Confucius" (the Tenmon version of the Analects of Confucius) under the guidance of Kiyohara Nobukata. These became known as the Asaino version and contributed greatly to the spread of printed books. …
