A calcareous alga in the family Corallinaceae of the order Crackletiaceae, red algae. It attaches to warty rocks in the intertidal zone, in crevices between rocks, and on the walls of tide pools. It is an unarticulated corallinaceous algae within the family Corallinaceae, and does not have joints called knee segments. As the alga grows, the calcareous shells join together to form a mass of 10 cm or more in diameter. Several species are known, including L. simulans and L. erubescens . It is common in warm seas. 紅藻類カクレイト目サンゴモ科の石灰藻。潮間帯のいぼ状になった岩上,岩の裂けたすきま,タイドプールの壁面などに固着する。サンゴモ科のなかでも無節サンゴモ類で,藻体に膝節という節が発達せず,藻体が生長するにつれ,その石灰質の外殻は互いについて径 10cm以上の塊となる。カワライシモ L. simulans,エダウチイシモ L. erubescensなど数種が知られている。暖海に多い。
