It is a district of Higashiosaka City in the central eastern part of Osaka Prefecture. It is located on the alluvial fan of Zushidani, at the western foot of the Ikoma Mountains. The place name comes from the quarrying of stones (Ikoma stone) from Mt. Ikoma, and it is said that stones for the construction of Osaka Castle were also transported from here. Even today, there are many stoneworkers and gardeners. It has been an open area since ancient times, and is home to the Kusaka Shell Mound and Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine, which is listed in the Engi Shikinaisha. It is said to have miraculous powers for treating boils, and is visited by many pilgrims. Between the shrine and Ishikiri Station on the Kintetsu Railway Nara Line, there is Komonmaemachi, lined with drug stores. Near the shrine is Oyabu Kofun, where 11 human bones were discovered. In addition, there is Shin-Ishikiri Station on the Kintetsu Railway Keihanna Line.
