Ishikari Yufutsu Lowlands

...To the south of the Ishikari Lowland are the Sapporo Alluvial Fan and the Nopporo Plateau, and to the north is the Ishikari Plateau, both of which form part of the plain. The southern part of the Ishikari Plain is separated from the Yufutsu Plain by a low plateau (Chitose Plateau) made of volcanic ejecta, but the Ishikari-Yufutsu Lowland, which stretches from the main part of the Ishikari Plain to the Yufutsu Plain, connects the main part and southwest of the main island of Hokkaido, and this lowland corresponds to the lowland of northern Honshu, which passes through the Tanabe Lowland, Noheji Plain, Kitakami Basin, and Abukuma River Basin of the Shimokita Peninsula. The Ishikari-Yufutsu Lowland is a Quaternary subsidence area, and has the second largest total subsidence after the Kanto Plain, generally within 250m, but in areas around Shinozu and Naganuma, subsidence of 500-1000m is estimated.

…石狩低地の南には札幌扇状地と野幌（のつポろ）台地があり，北には石狩台地があっていずれも平野の一部を構成している。石狩平野の南部と勇払平野とは火山噴出物からなる低い台地(千歳台地)で隔てられているが，石狩平野の主要部から勇払平野にいたる石狩勇払低地帯は，北海道本島の主部と南西部をつなぎ，この低地帯は下北半島の田名部低地，野辺地平野，北上盆地を経て阿武隈川盆地にいたる本州北部の低地帯に対応している。石狩勇払低地帯は第四紀の沈降地帯で，関東平野に次ぐ総沈降量を示し，一般には250m以内であるが，篠津，長沼付近などでは500～1000mの沈降が推定されている。…
