A popular entertainment publication published over a period of several years beginning around 1946. After World War II, speech, which had been restricted until then, became active as if a dam had been released, and anything in print sold at the time. Magazines such as Shincho and Bungei, which had been forced to suspend publication under wartime controls, were relaunched in 1945, and Chuokoron in 1946, while Sekai and Tenbo were also launched in the same year. In this environment, castration magazines stood out. These could be said to be a sudden outburst of sexual liberation that had been suppressed during the war, and most of their content centered on sexual customs and sold on their strong stimulation.
