〘名〙① 石を投げつけること。武器、凶器として用いる場合にも、遊戯として行なう場合にもいう。石投げ。石合戦。印地(いんじ)。印地打(いんじうち)。※上井覚兼日記‐天正一四年（1586）七月二七日「彼仁は軈而手負候て死候、右之衆皆々石打に被_レ合候て、散々之式共也」② (鳥が飛び立つとき、また、降り立つときに、この羽で石を打つからという) 鳥が羽を広げたとき、その両端に出る羽。端の方より第一の羽を大石打、第二の羽を小石打という。矢羽として珍重された。石打の羽。〔鷹秘抄（１４Ｃ前）〕③ (「石打の矢」の略) ②を用いて作った矢。※源平盛衰記（１４Ｃ前）三五「十八指いたる鴟(とび)の石打(イシウチ)頭高に負ひ」④ 近世、軍陣の外側に張る幕のいちばん下の部分をいう。横につないだ五枚の布の第五番めの名称。芝打。〔兵法雄鑑（1645）〕⑤ 婚礼の家や行列に向かって近隣の人や若者仲間などが石を投げつける風習。本来は村外婚の場合に行なわれ、酒食を強要する手段にも用いられた。石の祝い。※浄瑠璃・井筒業平河内通（1720）二「祝言の夜の石打は打かためるとてめでたけれ共」⑥ 魚が隠れている石に石を叩きつけて魚を捕える漁法。⑦ 紐の組み方で、しっかりと堅く組むこと。また、そのように組んだ紐。〔随筆・守貞漫稿（1837‐53）〕
