...In the early 17th century, Omori Sokun (1570-1625), who came from the Soza school, wrote many musical books and spread the Sokun school, and in the latter half of the 17th century, his disciple, Sashida Kazuto, led the Sashida school. Three self-study books for beginners were published, namely, "Itochiku Shoshinshu" (1664) by Nakamura Sozo, "Dosho no Kiyoku" (1669) by Murata Sosei, and "Ikanobori" (1687, included in "Itochiku Daizen"), whose author is unknown, which shows the popularity of itosekiri at that time. From these, we can see that until the first half of the 17th century, itosekiri music was mainly solo pieces (called "te"), but in the latter half of the 17th century, accompaniment to popular songs (hayariuta) and dance songs, and ensembles with koto and shamisen (called "rankyoku") became popular. ...

…17世紀初葉には宗左流から出た大森宗勲(1570‐1625)が多くの譜書を著して宗勲流として普及し，17世紀後半にはその門流の指田一音の指田流が栄えた。また中村宗三著《糸竹初心集》(1664)，村田宗清著《洞簫曲（どうしようのきよく）》(1669)，著者不明《紙鳶（いかのぼり）》(1687，《糸竹大全》に収められている)の3種の入門独習書の出版が見られ，当時の一節切の流行を物語っている。それらを見ると，17世紀前半までの一節切の音楽は独奏曲(これを〈手〉という)が主体であったが，17世紀後半には流行歌（はやりうた）･踊り歌の伴奏や箏･三味線との合奏(これらを〈乱曲〉という)が盛んになったことがわかる。…
