He was a senior disciple of the second Ikenobo Senko. He served as the head of the Ikenobo Society during the Genroku period (1688-1704). In 1705, he created a large pine-colored standing flower arrangement for the Great Buddha of the Todaiji Temple, which was rebuilt. His work appears in the "Ikenobo Standing Flowers: New Selection of Fifty Bottles." He was known by the nickname Sanzaemon.
