Ando Shrine

...The main agricultural product is the cultivation of mandarin oranges, known as "Tatsuma mandarins." Ando Shrine in Higashikoji enshrines Ando Tsuneaki, a senior retainer who took responsibility for the Takezaemon Uprising that broke out in the Yoshida domain in 1793 (Kansei 5) and committed seppuku. Daijoji Temple in Tatsuma is the family temple of the Date clan, the domain's lord, and in the Jizo Hall is enshrined the Mizuhiki Jizo, who is said to have brought water to the rice fields during droughts.
