…In the mid-Heian period, in response to the development of private land ownership and the social rise in the value of land certificates, lost documents were noted among lost property, and a form of lost certificate in the form of a gejo (disclosure letter) was developed, such as "Kinkai kenzai sho judge". After the gejo (disclosure letter) style fell out of use, the lost certificate format became more and more like a moushijo (application letter) style, such as "Riken shijo jitsu" (application for lost certificate), and at the same time, the content became more complex, with a draft of the lost document being added (as a result, the lost certificate was sometimes called anso (draft document) or simply anmon (draft document)), and in some cases the certificate became an independent document (called a lost certificate). By the way, the certificate judge and the lost certificate holder were expected to prevent or mediate disputes caused by lost documents. …

…平安中期，土地私有の発展と土地証文の価値の社会的上昇に対応して，亡失財物の中の紛失文書が特記され，〈謹解申請在地証判事〉などと書き出す解状（げじよう）形式の紛失状が分化発展した。そして解の様式が廃れたのち，紛失状の様式は〈立申紛失状事〉などと書き出す申状（もうしじよう）の形式が多くなり，と同時に，内容的に複雑化して亡失書の案文（あんもん）が付記されたり(このことによって紛失状は案書（あんそ）または単に案文といわれる場合もあった)，証判が1通の独立した文書(紛失安堵状と称する)となる場合も起きた。ところで，証判者，紛失安堵者は文書紛失にともなう紛争を防止，もしくは調停する力を期待されていた。…
