Anglo-Boer War

…an imperialist war fought between the British and the Boers over control of South Africa from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Also known as the Boer War, the Anglo-Boer War, or the South African War, it consisted of the First War (1880-81) and the Second War (1899-1902). As a result of the Great Trek, the Boer Republic, founded in 1852, fell into financial difficulties in the 1970s.
