Alma Ata Declaration

This is what is called primary health care (PHC). For example, the World Health Organization, in 1946, established a new definition of health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity" and began its work by recognizing it as a right. However, it realized that the spread of so-called modern medicine not only did not produce the desired results, but in many cases even put a strain on the national economy. In order to guarantee the right to health, in the Alma Ata Declaration of September 1978, it presented a methodology that placed primary health care at the center. It is defined as follows:
