Amurrus
A nomadic people of Western Semitic origin, originally from Arabia. They invaded Mesopotamia from Syria in the early 2000th century BCE and established the Old Babylonian Kingdom (First Babylonian Dynasty). In Syria, they established the Kingdom of Amorites in the 14th century BCE, which was powerful until the time of the Old Testament.
